A Day in the Life of a Communications Manager
Always available for a cup of tea and a chat she loves nothing more then showing you the amazing possibilities Glenfall has to offer.

We are early risers in my house so usually up before the sun in the winter! I am the walking example of 'but first coffee', only it is tea in my case. After my morning brew its packing the bags (Chester needs a lot of toys to get him through the day!) and off to work. Albeit sometimes quite reluctantly for Chester who I am sure would lay in until 10am most days if we let him.

I am usually the first one in Glenfall, so my day always starts with opening everything up. By this point Chester has well and truly woken up so it is a little energy burn off around our glorious gardens before he settles into breakfast and I settle into emails. I will always start with the emails, as I am only part time at Glenfall I usually have a few -most of the time filled with some of Dianne's late-night brain dumps !Ÿ˜‰

Ultimately, I keep the rest of the world up to date with what is happening at Glenfall House. I promote our mission, spread word about our special offers and make sure everyone knows all about the services we offer. I ensure our website and social media accounts are up to date and are providing our guests the information to help them plan their dream weddings and events.

I seem to have unwittingly become the face behind our Questions of the Week (reluctant team members) and get my own back my badgering the team to take lots of photographs when I am not around !  When I am on site, I love nothing more then getting the camera out and capturing everything that is unfolding that day to share with the world.

After emails its always time to check the social accounts - responding to any questions, sharing some love and making sure we have the week planned out. A huge part of my day usually involves developing content to be spread via social media, websites, newsletters, brochures etc fuelled by really strong cups of tea!Ÿ˜‰

Having originally started at Glenfall House as the Wedding and Event Manager I will assist Dianne with new enquiries and showing guests around. I love Glenfall and I think what we can offer is something truly unique so a good part of my job role is developing events so we can share it with the rest of the world. From Wedding Fayres, Teddy Bear Picnics through to Murder Mystery Evenings and Mini moons. I turn Dianne's late night brain dumps into a reality for all to enjoy.

The sheer volume of variety in my job is what I love. One day I will be designing a leaflet and the next I could be out taking photographs of our beautiful wisteria. Meeting couples as they hunt for venues right through to getting the professional photographs sent over - being part of a small, family run business really allows me to grow and develop my skill set and all whilst working in the best industry ever!

Our team is small but with a mighty HUGE HEART. Glenfall enables me to really care about what we do. Spend the time making it perfect and concentrating on the little details. It's refreshing after working in more conventional wedding venues.

And of course, I get to bring my little sidekick Chester with me to work every day - never a dull moment with Chester & Bud around!
